Dear Bill, Pam, Jay, jr, and Katie,   
I have many memories of Jim and your  Dad.  First,  he was a wonderful man.  He was deeply proud of his children and their accomplishments.   He would still be proud of both of you today.  He deeply loved Pam, his best friend and wife.  He fondly told me of the adventure trip to Aruba, where you guys had a wonderful time.

Bill, Jim told me that he paid all of your living expenses while you were in Law School and all the while, supporting his wife and children.   He asked very little in return, just to continue to work hard and help others.  He was deeply proud of you and all you have done in raising your son and career.  Family meant a lot to him and very proud to be Irish through and through.

For me, I was and am proud to call him friend and" brother."  He taught me that car salesmen are honest sales people.  He had a wonderful sense of humor.   He never slowed down.  If he sat still at his desk for 15 minutes, it was a miracle!  Jay, you never had to worry about your dad getting enough exercise,  as he was always on the move!  Somehow, he was able to meet all of his customers needs and made a lot of friends along the way.
Today, I miss him every day.  I work with another friend of Jim's at Northtown- a guy named George Bawab, who, knew your brother, husband, and dad and called him friend.
Jim is in Heaven, but he is still with us all today, letting us know he is still around!

I have belatedly heard of Jim's passing.  I am so sorry.  I remember the day I zipped Jim's chin in his snowsuit when he was about 4!

Like many others I had the great experience of buying several cars through Jim and was looking forward to buying my next vehicle from him. He always made it a plesant experience.

I also would stop and chat with him when I had my car if for service. 

I will continue doing business with Northtown, but it will not be the same without him.

You will truly be missed Jim. So glad I had the opportunity for you to sell me my first car at Jim Culligan Pontiac. From there it developed into a friendship and a honor for me to say I had a chance to have known a individual such as yourself. A solid Dad, husband and overall great guy! I'm gonna miss you annual holiday Christamas card with your family! I feel as though I watched your children grow up year after year. I did actually have several opportunities to meet his family including his sons graduation at Klienhans. What a proud dad he was that day!

My dearest condolences go out to the friends and family of Jim Long. My family and I had the pleasure of doing business with Jim since 2007, and I put the emphasis on "pleasure". Buying a car from Jim was so much more than just buying a car...he made it an experience. In between cars when I would bring in my to be serviced, we would often sit and chat for quite some time. He had a way of making me and my family feel like we were the most important people in the world. He will be sadly missed.

Our friend was gruff and driven. Jim set the tempo always and as a result, we were all more because he was in the world. As unexpected as it seems, Jim proved to be an important person in my life. Long ago, he provided me a bridge during a transition period in my life that has led to this future moment. For that, I can be nothing but grateful. Like the four brothers I came to know, Jim was inherently good and decent. I am saddened for his family. This loss comes much too soon.
