I remeber one day, around fall, after a secrity install, we went to a pond and drank hard cider out of a jug and ate pizzasubmarines....

Dear Hanlon family, we send our deepest sympathy in your time of loss.  John was a good friend from many years ago    While we were still young we shared many good times together as we were all trying to figure out what life would be all about.  We never really “grew up.” John was a great help building our house in the early 80,s Always willing to help and accomplish the task at hand even when he kept saying “I’ll be right there….. I’ll be under the bush, supervising😂”  We shared many bottles of cider or a passport scotch or two.  But mostly we will remember laughing with him. He had a great sense of humor and was a gentle soul.   

Thank you for everything DAD, man to man I know you did not have to step in...but I sure am glad you did...thank you for all the skill sets you taught me, and all the hard work we shared, I appreciate you...will pray for you man, enjoy the galaxy trip!

Dearest John,

For nearly 30 years, you were a true friend, in every way!  Of course, you were fun to "hang out" with (you're Irish!), but your friendship extended far beyond the good times.  It was in the worst of times that you personified friendship.  During one of our darkest times, you asked what you could do to help.  When I said that I needed help to ensure that our daughter continued to attend her confirmation classes and to "entertain" our son while she was in class, you stepped up, without hesitation!  From the time they were born, our children called you "Uncle John."  Over time, it became clear that it was not just a title.  You were, indeed, a bonus uncle to Ciara and Colton.  
You sponsored John as he was confirmed.  

I will, forever, cherish the memories of special occasions and  Holidays spent together and the memories of YOU.  John Hanlon... Dear Friend, Franciscan, Veteran,  Faithful Servant of God.  Until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hands.
