Mr. John "Jack" Rexinger, Jr., age 88, passed away peacefully on November 22, 2025, in Buffalo, New York. Born on January 9, 1937, Jack lived a full and vibrant life marked by devotion to family, a strong work ethic, and a deep appreciation for cottage life and his Irish heritage.
Jack graduated from the University at Buffalo in 1958 with a degree in English. In 1959, he answered the call to serve his country by joining the National Guard at Fort Dix. Jack dedicated over three decades to Travelers Insurance, where he worked as a Senior Claims Adjuster.
On August 27, 1960 Jack married the love of his life, Judy, with whom he shared 49 wonderful years until her passing in 2010. He was a devoted father to their three children: Jack (Judy), Jeffrey, and Jill (Patrick).
His legacy continues through his beloved grandchildren: Jamie (Jen), Jacob, Lindsey (Luke), Austin, Mary Clare (Sean), Jeff (Mary), Erika (Tom), and Kim; and great-grandchildren: Josh, Jordyn, Lydia, and Ryan. He shared a special bond with his sister-in-law and best friend Jerri, whose companionship meant the world to him.
Jack had an adventurous spirit that found its greatest expression in travel—especially to Ireland. Accompanied by family members, he visited the Emerald Isle 11 times throughout his life. He loved sharing stories of his travels including the connections he made with relatives in County Clare. Jack’s happiest days were spent in Crystal Beach where he enjoyed relaxing days by the lake, cocktail hour at the cottage, and conversations and laughter with family and friends. He served as President of the Windermere Blvd Elementary PTA and Town of Tonawanda Irish American Club where he established generational friendships.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Judy; his brother Daniel; and his parents John and Mary Rexinger.
A Wake will be held on November 28, 2025, from 3-7:00 pm at Perna, Dengler, Roberts Funeral Home, 1671 Maple Rd. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph University Church, 3269 Main St, Buffalo, NY 14214 on Saturday November 29 at 10 am followed by Interment at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
