Joseph B. Boron
February 20, 1928 – January 9, 2021
Joseph B. Boron, 92, of Amherst, NY slipped peacefully into the arms of Jesus on January 9, 2021. Joe was paralyzed as a young boy after being hit by a car. The accident left him with a life-threatening traumatic brain injury. However, by God’s grace, and despite enormous odds, "Sunshine" once again learned to walk, talk and care for himself. Joe was a true overcomer. He accepted Christ as his personal Savior at age 36. As a 1947 Graduate of Riverside High School, Joe became a successful Draftsman, Realtor, golfer, Sunday School teacher and Founder of the Parents Football Booster Club at Kenmore East High School. Over the past few years, visitors to Rosa Coplon on the Weinberg Campus would often hear this joyful and enthusiastic patriot singing “God Bless America, land that I love…” He is deeply missed. However, his family and friends find comfort in knowing that his body is once again whole and his mind is no longer subject to the devastating affects of the 5-year battle he fought with Alzheimer’s Disease.
Former spouse of the late Bonnie (nee Thorburn) Boron; devoted father of Daniel (Julie) Boron, Linda (Dwight) Saunders and Neil (Mary) Boron; cherished grandfather of 19 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren; loving son of the late Thomas and Maryanna Boron; dear brother of the late Josephine, Carrie, Laura, Anthony, Henry and Theodore; also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. A celebration of Joe’s life will be held at a later date.
