Lynette J. Tingue, aged 73, passed away on July 30, 2025.

"Today, we gather to honor and remember the life of Lynette Tingue, a woman whose strength, humor, and love shaped the lives of all who knew her. As a sister, aunt, friend, and a devoted woman of God, Lynette brought joy, wisdom, and an unshakable faith into the world.

In her younger years, Lynette was a shining star in her community. She sang in the Tonawanda Community Chorus. Her voice lifting the spirits of all who heard it. A reflection of her soul's deep connection to beauty and faith. She was also an exceptional student. Lynette was a straight-A student, earning her BA and MA in English and Library Science, a testament to her intelligence and dedication. She approached life with the same passion and discipline that defined her academic journey. She had a keen eye for detail and never missed a moment to correct her siblings on proper grammar and punctuation though, at the time, they may not have fully appreciated her corrections. Over the years, however, they came to remember it fondly, recognizing how much her attention to the little things shaped them and how her “corrections” were always offered with love and a touch of humor.

In addition to her academic accomplishments, she had a creative side—she found peace in crocheting, a craft that allowed her to express her nurturing spirit and create beautiful works of art for her loved ones. She also found joy in final years doing crafts and activities with her friends at the nursing facility, sharing her hidden talents. And, as a collector of bells, she found beauty in the simplest of things. Each bell in her collection told a story, ringing out reminders of special moments and memories, just as her life did for all of us.

She was a friend to all who met her. People were drawn to her warmth, her infectious humor, and her unshakable faith. Lynette had a quick wit and an ability to make others laugh—even in the most difficult of times. Her joyful spirit was a reminder to us all that life is meant to be enjoyed, no matter what challenges come our way. Her laughter was contagious, and her humor a gift that lightened the hearts of everyone around her. She wasn’t afraid to laugh at herself, either—a trait that made her all the more endearing. One of the funniest moments that captures her spirit came when she humorously told her sister, as a wedding blessing, “Have a good life.” It was classic Lynette—genuine, lighthearted, and full of love.

Her role as a “back seat buddy” on road trips with her niece was another cherished memory. Those trips were filled with memories that will forever stay in her family’s hearts.

Lynette was also a passionate sports fan, often filling her days with the excitement of her favorite teams and players. She loved her Buffalo Bills, Sabres, Bisons and New York Mets. Her enthusiasm for sports was something she shared with those she loved. Especially her nephew, who between the two of them could talk sports endlessly. Whether watching a game or discussing a play, her passion was clear, and she loved being part of the excitement, sharing the thrill of victory. She wasn’t, however, all that interested in discussing the losses  .

But perhaps one of the most remarkable things about Lynette was her fierce independence. Despite being diagnosed with Lupus at the young age of 18 and being told she had only five years to live, she defied the odds with strength and determination. Lynette lived with Lupus for over 50 years. As it progressed and took away more of her abilities, her resilience was nothing short of inspiring—she lived with a quiet strength, a warrior spirit that refused to be shaken by the challenges that came her way. She faced each day with grace, courage, and a heart full of hope.

Through all her battles, her faith in God remained unwavering. She trusted in the Lord’s plan, and her relationship with Him was the foundation of her life. Her faith and her laughter were both pillars that supported her through the highs and lows of her journey.

Preceded in death by her parents, Millard and Dorothy Tingue. Lynette is survived by her loving sister, Laurie (Ken) Schlosser, brother Michael TIngue, niece Kimberly Schlosser, and nephew Tyson Tingue.

Today, as we remember Lynette, we celebrate the indomitable spirit she shared with all of us. She may no longer be with us in body, but her legacy lives on in the laughter, love, and strength she leaves behind. Her memory will live on in the stories we tell and the laughter we share, holding onto the lessons she taught us about resilience, joy, and the power of family.

Rest in peace, Lynette. You lived your life with grace, humor, and an unshakable love for those you cherished. We are forever grateful for the time we had with you, and your spirit will remain in our hearts always."

She was born on May 3, 1952. Lynette was a resident of Warsaw, New York formerly Buffalo, NY. Services are private.
