

Maureen Martin Wightman Kung November 14, 1946 – October 21, 2025. Maureen Kung, a devoted oncology nurse, gifted seamstress, and beloved mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully on October 21, 2025, in Bridgewater, New Jersey. She was 78.
Born in Central New York on November 14, 1946, Maureen dedicated her life to caring for others. Her career as a nurse was marked by compassion, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to her patients. Long after retirement, Maureen continued to embody the spirit of nursing, offering comfort and guidance to those around her. Maureen was married to Chao Yu Kung, her loving partner in life, who predeceased her in 2022. She is survived by her sons Chia (Cat) and Ming (Diana). She was a proud grandmother to five grandsons: Charlie, Adam, Ben, Edward, and Daniel — each a source of joy and inspiration in her later years. Her siblings Mallick, Debbie, Nancy, Sheila, and Peter. Her brother Scott predeceased her.
Maureen lovingly sewed clothes and Halloween costumes for her children. In her later years, she turned her talents to quilting, which she used to adorn the homes of loved ones. Memorial Visitation will be held on Sunday November 23, from 10:00-10:30 AM followed by a Memorial Service to celebrate Maureen’s life at the PERNA, DENGLER, ROBERTS FUNERAL HOME, 1671 Maple Rd., Williamsville.
