Norman W. Hinz

HINZ - Norman W. of Williamsville died peacefully at home on March 15, 2022, at the age of 89. He was predeceased by the love of his life, his wife Rosemary. Loving father of Kevin (Hillary), Lisa (Stuart), Paula (Andrew), and Paul (Martha) Hinz; grandfather of Alex, Christy (Indy), Cornell (Miranda), Libby, Marian, Jake, Will, and Donavan (Sarah) and great grandfather to Sadie, Griffin & Hudson; sibling of Roger, Leslie, Richard, Lois, Alice, and Linda.

Born in Fillmore, NY, he grew up on a dairy farm. After graduating Buffalo State Teacher’s College, he taught in the Buffalo School System for 25 years.

Known for his prodigious memory, storytelling skills, and welcoming attitude, he had a special ability to make everyone feel like a friend. He had a story for every occasion and welcomed everyone on his porch in Williamsville, for a coffee and warm hug.

His retirement was spent with family & friends, and filled with joy, laughter, and adventure. He enjoyed volunteering at Frank Lloyd Wright’s Martin House.

The family will be present to receive friends Sunday, March 20th from 12-4 PM at BEACH-TUYN FUNERAL HOME, INC., 5541 Main Street (at Cayuga Rd) Williamsville.
