devoted father of Steven (Helen Tweedy) Simmons, Catherine (Robert) Hark and Carolyn (Joseph) Sciandra; cherished grandfather of Steven J. Simmons, Robert (Alicia) Hark, Jonathan (Betty) Hark, Stephanie Haberman and Joseph Sciandra Jr.; proud great grandfather of six; dear brother of the late Alan (late Judy) Simmons. Family will be present to receive friends on Monday May 4 from 2-6PM where Funeral Services will take place on Tuesday at 10AM from the PERNA, DENGLER, ROBERTS FUNERAL HOME 1671 Maple Road followed by interment at Elmlawn Cemetery. Robert honorably served his country in the US Army during the Korean War and was a dedicated employee of Niagara Mohawk for 46 years. He was also actively involved in several civic organizations. RESUME: ROBERT C. SIMMONS

D.O.B. 12-25-30, Buffalo, New York

1948 - Graduated Kensington High School Regents, Engineering.

1949 - Employed by Niagara Mohawk Power Meter Reader.

1951 - Enlisted U.S. Army, served in us as cadre until 6-52. Went to Korea until 6-53 as cw radio operator & aircraft observer. Returned from U.S. Army with honorable discharge, 2 ribbons & 2 battle stars.

1953 - Returned to Niagara Mohawk & worked up through various steps as a hot stick lineman and on to troubleman and foreman.

1954 - Married to Jacquelyn Simmons. They have 3 Children & 5 Grandchildren.

1983 - Became a supervisor of transmission & distribution dept. During the years he directed various large construction jobs. He went out of town to hurricanes, ice storms. tornados etc & directed emergency restorations.

1994 - Retired from Niagara Mohawk.

1995 - Employed with Adelphia as claims investigator to set up new department. This was successful and recouped costs for many losses.7 years scoutmaster of troop 444 - Maplemere School. Helped build & maintain the rope course at Camp Schoellkopf & work on camp wiring for twelve years.

Chairman of Amherst Conservatives 18 years.

Executive Secretary of Erie County Conservative Party.

Past Vice Chairman & Treasurer, Committeeman for 34 years.

Member of Executive Committee for 34 years.

Member of Amherst Planning Board 1990.
