Ron passed peacefully with his wife, sister and children at his side. He retired as a professor of psychology at Hilbert College in Hamburg NY after 26 years of service. He taught undergraduate and graduate courses in psychology, statistics and the honors seminars. He also spent eight years as the Director for Institutional Research and Assessment for the college. From 1985 to 1993 he worked at the Buffalo Psychiatric Center as Chief Psychologist, then Associate Clinical Director. He was an Associate Psychologist at Hutchings Psychiatric Center, Syracuse NY where he was Director of Geriatric Psychology Services and Program Director for the Geriatric Day Treatment Center and Outpatient Services from 1979-1985.
An impressive CV is not the measure of a man. Ron was a devoted husband, father, a mentor and role model. The way he is described by many is as a kind and patient man, his strong intellect and love of teaching at all levels, from Cub Scouts to Graduate Students was evident. He loved cruising on his motorcycle, fishing with friends, pickleball and crossword puzzles that he did in ink. Ron was an enthusiastic Buffalo Bills fan, and enjoyed watching NBA and College basketball. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Roswell Park Alliance Foundation or Hospice and Palliative Care Buffalo.
