I have happy memories of Mr. Marasco's art classes - he was the rare person who had a genuine talent for working with teenagers. I am grateful to have gone on to a fulfilling life working in design - and I do credit my wonderful art teachers at Eggert Rd. Elementary School, Amherst Middle School and Amherst High School for the inspiration and guidance. I think about the impact early Art education had on the course of my adult life - and I wish the same opportunity for all our children. Art enriches our lives in countless ways. Thank you Mr. Marasco for devoting your life to teaching; you touched so many lives.

Mr. Marasco was my art teacher at Amherst Junior High School in the 1960's. He was a wonderful teacher who inspired many students including myself. I ended up becoming an art teacher in the Buffalo Public Schools and retired in 2010. I remember he encouraged his students and always made them feel good about themselves and what they accomplished. I am so sorry to hear of his passing. I will never forget Mr. Marasco!

Dr. Marasco was my art teacher at Amherst Junior High in 1964. I'm almost 70 years old now, yet the memory of his patient instruction and his lovely voice are as clear to me as if it all happened yesterday. Mostly, though, I remember his kindness. That was so very important to me, a frightened 14-year-old at a new school in a new neighborhood. Dr. Marasco didn't just teach -- he changed lives! My condolences and thanks to his family.

Dear Aggie,
I am so sorry for your loss and hope family and friends will be of comfort.
I taught in the High School, but most of all I loved working with him on AEA activities. He was an exceptional educator , a fun person and committed to supporting AEA activities and his friends.
I will miss him and his spirit.
Please take care. Betty

I was deeply saddened to read of Sery’s passing. I will always remember the great times we had at Amherst Middle School. There was not a day when Sery wasn’t upbeat and positive. When he entered the faculty room everyone’s spirits were lifted. May God‘s blessing be on him and his family.

Mr. Marasco will always rank with my all time favorite teachers throughout my years at Amherst Junior then Senior High, right through Buff State and finally Berea College KY. I took art in 9th grade in 1971 I think was the year. I loved Mr. Marasco’s class, met my best friend there who is a practicing artist today in Dewitt, NY. And went on to paint scenery and manage stage crew in the Senior High as the first female stage manager in Amherst history. Mr. Marasco gave me skills and confidence and mostly I remember great warmth. I wish all of you peace and prayers with his passing. Suzanne Kirkland Amherst graduating class 1974.
