Stephen Lee Dyson, Professor Emeritus of Classics at University of Buffalo, passed away on May 31, 2026, at the age of 88. He was born on June 27, 1937 in Brooklyn, New York, and was a resident of Williamsville, New York. Beloved husband of 64 years to Pauline (nee Ucci) Dyson; dear father of Stephanie (Michael Biundo) Dyson, Christopher Dyson, and Jon-Paul (Ursula) Dyson; grandfather of Jacob Dyson, Simona (Michael) Tomicich, Abigail (Nico) Alvarez, Peter Dyson (Samantha Dumitrescu-Dyson), Daniel Biundo, and Jonathan Dyson; brother of the late Virginia Dyson; brother-in-law of Warner Johnston. A memorial service will be held at Calvary Episcopal Church 20 Milton St., Williamsville, NY at a later date. Flowers are gratefully declined.
