A veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II, Mr. Muck saw action in the Pacific Theater. After the war, he returned home to serve as treasurer of the dealership that his father, Fred G. Muck, established in 1921 at Millersport Highway and Campbell Boulevard.

The elder Muck started the business in a 12-square-foot garage where he performed repair work. One day he staged a tractor demonstration on his mother's farm. Ford officials in attendance were so impressed with his salesmanship that they offered him a dealership on the spot.
Mr. Muck was prominent in community activities. He contacted the Amherst Police Club in 1972 about sponsoring an award named for his late son, William F. Muck II. The youth was a hemophiliac and needed the assistance of the department on many occasions.
The annual award recognizes outstanding police action and is selected by a vote of members of the club.
Mr. Muck was a past president of the New York State Auto Dealers Association and an exempt member of the Getzville Fire Company.
He is survived by his wife, Norma (DiPirro); one son, Richard; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services were private. Arrangements were made by the Beach-Tuyn Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Hospice Buffalo.
