Alla was born in Kharkiv, Ukraine, in 1948. She was the only daughter of Mark and Yelizaveta. Growing up in the former Soviet Union, she overcame the challenges and limitations faced by Jewish families of that era and went on to become a successful engineer through her intelligence, determination, and perseverance.
In 1970, she met Vitaly, who became the love of her life and her devoted companion for more than three decades. Together, they built a beautiful family and lovingly raised their two children, Helen and Peter.
In 1989, the family immigrated to the United States in search of new opportunities and a brighter future. Arriving with very little, they worked tirelessly and built a successful life.
Alla had a remarkable gift for connecting with people and bringing light into every life she touched. Throughout her years in Kharkiv, Detroit, and Chicago, she formed countless meaningful friendships. Her kindness, warmth, and genuine interest in others earned her lifelong friends who cherished her around the world.
She was a devoted grandmother to her five beloved grandchildren—Mark, Abigail, Talia, Scarlett, and Tamir—and a loving mother-in-law to Vlad and Anna. Nothing brought her greater joy than being involved in the lives of her family. She celebrated their accomplishments, supported them through challenges, and took a sincere interest not only in their milestones but also in the small details of their everyday lives.
Alla had a deep appreciation for literature, music, theater, architecture, travel, card games, and, above all, spending time with the people she loved. She remained curious throughout her life, always eager to learn, discover, and embrace each new day.
She was a woman of grace, strength, dignity, impeccable style and elegance. Her wisdom, generosity, and unwavering love will continue to inspire all who knew her.
Alla will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered every day by her family, friends, and all whose lives were enriched by her presence. Her memory will forever be a blessing.
A funeral service will be held at Weinstein & Piser Funeral Home on June 16, 2026 at 11am, followed by interment at Memorial Park Cemetery.
