Allan, the adoring husband to Terri Sweig, (z”l), with whom he shared over sixty years of love, partnership, laughter and travel built a family that was the center of Allan’s life and his greatest joy. He was the proud father of Laura (David) Eisen and David (Kristy) Sweig, and doting grandfather to Jacquelyn, Sari, Samantha, Zachary and Madelyne.
Allan earned both his undergraduate and Juris Doctor degrees from Northwestern University and had a long and successful career as a lawyer. He was a named partner at one of the nation’s leading boutique law firms Nachman, Munitz & Sweig. Allan loved to teach, and he mentored so many young lawyers that went on to have their own spectacular careers.
Allan’s boundless search for knowledge and learning was only surpassed by his warmth and generosity. He was an avid tennis player, cyclist and political activist. He touched everyone who knew him, leaving a legacy of kindness and integrity that will endure through his family and friends.
Allan (z”l), Laura and David also want to acknowledge the compassionate care he received from Angie, Cynthia, Lynden, Iwona and Ruta over the last months of his life, the unwavering support of Julie Fohrman as well as his special friend Annette Dworkin.
Donations in his memory may be made to Death with Dignity and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
