I’m sorry this is so late, but I just learned of our loss of Anita. I had not seen her since before the pandemic. As her hairdresser and Wilmette of many years, I have many fun memories of Anita. She had such a great wit and sense of humor, and quite often we would spend our time together Just laughing. My deep condolences go out to the family, her brother, and her sister, both of which I also knew. I think of her often and she will be missed. Again, I am so sorry to all in her family.

We met when my neighbor invited me to  join her 'international book club' , a perfect  basis for friendship for two such book loving nerds.  We also shared a  love of east asian culture, food and travel,  deep discussions, and even arguments of politics and social policy,  and the quiet  enjoyment of her patio garden, chatting and drinking tea.   I discovered what a  bold and remarkable  person she had been throughout her life, and the dedicated love of her former students reaching back decades.  It has  been such an honor to call Anita a friend. Her memory lives on in her teaching and intellectual legacy.

Anita was such an amazing educator, and although she was no longer in a school environment  she continued teaching all of us the importance of learning and having an open mind.  Anita I will miss you and I thank you for the wonderful times we spent together.

My condolences to the family.
I was a student of Ms. Mukand's at Walker School.  I will Always remember her smile and those special occasions when she spoiled us with lemonade.  During high school and on college breaks, I volunteered in her classroom.   Some students were tough, mouthed off to her and she stood her ground without a single nasty word spoken.   I admired her kindness.
She was definitely a Great Teacher to have had growing up.
