Ann was born on March 28, 1922 in Evanston, IL. Her parents owned a tailor store on Noyes Street.
Ann was a hard working and excellent student. She graduated from Evanston Township High School and then Northwestern University where she graduated Phi Beta Kappa. She moved to New York City and worked in public relations and as a hat model for a local department store. She met and married Alvin D. Rose and they moved to Catalpa Ave. in Chicago.
