Born in Dixon, Illinois, on August 25, 1927, Barbara (Bobbie) Langan Epler died peacefully on November 19, at age 98, at Three Crowns in Evanston, after visits with her beloved children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends. A Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Illinois College, Bobbie then earned her masters degree at Northwestern after getting her fourth child started in first grade. She never lost her passion for education. After decades of being a dedicated special ed teacher at Evanston Township High School, she was for many happy years a docent for the Chicago Architecture Foundation. Bobbie is predeceased by her devoted husband of 64 years, Bob Epler; her parents Frances and Edward; her siblings Rita, Mary Ellen, and Gregory. Her children, John, Laura, Margaret, and Barbara; her grandsons Matt, Joe, and Patrick; her beloved nephews and nieces and their children; and her many devoted friends will all greatly miss her. We pray for Bobbie and we are so grateful for her loving presence all these years.
