Beatrice Varon, 87, of Antioch, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on August 8, 2022 after a courageous battle with stomach cancer. She was the cherished mother of Rosalyn Varon (Glenn Kedzie) and Pamela (Peter) Schlossman, and the loving grandmother of Jeremy and Tyler Schlossman and Sara Janz. A devoted mother, Beatrice began her career at the Bradford Exchange in Niles when her children were teenagers, working her way up to a high level position in the company by virtue of her intelligence, talent and perseverance. She retired after 28 years, enjoying many things in her life that she didn’t have time for when she was working, including travel, outings with her lady friends and attending cultural events, in particular theatre, which she loved. A lifelong Cubs fans she could rattle off statistics and batting averages like nobody’s business. In her final days she received a personalized letter of support from former Cubs 1st baseman Anthony Rizzo. Beatrice was admired by friends and family alike - a strong, independent woman, she was the glue that held her family together. She will be terribly missed by all who were lucky enough to know her. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to A Silver Lining Foundation, www.asilverliningfoundation.org.
