

Don "Pinky" Pinkus, age 78, a CPA who practiced over 40 years as a Tax Consultant and was formerly with the IRS. Don was a man of many parts. An avid baseball fan, he played for and managed the US Navy Glenview Air Station baseball team and for two decades he proudly played as a Bullpen Catcher for the Chicago Cubs. Lover of classical music, he had a passion for the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and the Lyric Opera of Chicago.
Devoted brother of Marillyn (Dr. Howard) Weiss; beloved partner and best friend of Tobey Fleischer; loving uncle of Jill Weiss Duncan and David Weiss; cherished great-uncle of Joshua Duncan; also survived by other dear cousins, family and a myriad of friends. To know him was to love him.
Funeral services, Monday, January 7, 2013, 10:30 am at Weinstein Funeral Home, 111 Skokie Blvd, Wilmette, IL, 847-256-5700. Interment, Westlawn Cemetery, Norridge, IL. The celebration of his life will continue on Sunday, January 20, 3 pm at The Selfhelp Home, 9th Floor, 908 W Argyle St, Chicago, IL 60640. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Don's memory may be made to The Selfhelp Home.
