Edith L. Gabiner

Wife of the late Seymour Gabiner for almost 65 years. Mother of Janice (Jeffrey) Smith, Marla (Charles) Alexander, Layne (Carol) Gabiner and Jared (Karen) Gabiner. Grandmother of Suzanne (Marc) Pinsky, Laura (Ian) Cohen, Jessica Alexander and Adam Alexander. Great Grandmother of Evan and Bria Cohen and Hannah Pinsky. Sister of Harvey (Ellen) Liss and the late Frances Mandell. Aunt of many devoted nieces and nephews. Daughter of the late Max and Bessie Liss. Edith always remembered everyone’s birthday or anniversary with a greeting card, always found joy in selecting and sending holiday cards, special cards for graduations, births, and life cycle events. She liked to discuss politics and read two newspapers every day even when her eyes weren’t as strong. For years, she watched the weather channel and would call her family out of town when a storm was eminent just to make sure they were safe. Edith was always cutting out articles that she thought you would be interested in or she thought you should be interested learning. She had an amazing memory and a great laugh. Edith always said her obituary should end with this: “be kind to one another.”
