Evelyn Gottlieb, 98 of Chicago, IL, has departed this earthly plane. She was the elder daughter of Albert and Jean Lieberman, sister to Roslyn, all of whom have preceded her in passing. She grew up in the Washington Blvd. Temple (now Oak Park Temple) and attended school in the Austin neighborhood. She was later married to Alvin Gottlieb and raised two children, Laura and Daniel.
She traveled extensively to pursue her interest in archeology and traveled twice a year to Israel to stay connected with her son and his family. She served 50 years as a docent at the Field Museum. She also enjoyed and relished a lifetime of curiosity and love of learning. She delighted in cooking and mahjong. Her heart, caring and generosity will be missed.
She is survived by her children, grandchildren Lisa, Stephan (Joan), Aryeh (Yael), Zvi, as well as her great grandchildren Ayla, Eden, Mordechai, Naomi, Ofri and Yair. May her memory be for a blessing.
