Fred M. Frankston, 88, of Skokie, passed away on Thursday, July 3, surrounded by family. Fred was born in 1936 in Chicago, IL to Arthur and Gloria [Mahru] Frankstein. He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 58 years, Barbara Frankston, and his sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Harry Gould. He is survived by his children Lawrence Kyle Frank, Pamela (Michael) Gordon, & Janet (Scott) Lorin; his grandchildren Andrew, Leah, Matthew, Isaac, & Charlize. Fred’s greatest joy was being with his family. A certified public accountant, he was proud to have taught generations of students accounting at Oakton Community College. He was a member of the Army Reserves. He was especially proud of the published book he authored, "Bank Accounting". A funeral service will be held on Sunday, July 6 at 2:00 PM at Weinstein & Piser Funeral Home, 111 Skokie Blvd, Wilmette, IL 60091. Shiva will take place on Monday, July 7, from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Pamela and Michael Gordon's home, 1713 N Fremont St, Chicago, IL 60614. Contributions in memory of Fred may be made to the Pancreas Cancer Research Fund, Department of Surgery, Rm 6-099, 676 N. St. Clair, Chicago, IL 60611.
