She was the beloved wife of Marvin for 60 years; the loving mother of Lisa (Todd) Warren, Stacy (Mike) Kirchheimer, Burton Bilfeld, and David (Nicole) Bilfeld; and the adoring grandmother of Zachary (Dani), Harrison, Cameron, Taylor, Hanna, Hope, Lennon, and Mischa.
Trudy was the sister of Helene Sussan; sister in law to Anna and Myron Moscovitch; aunt of Michael, Daniel, Erik, Samantha, and Jonathan (Leah); and daughter of the late Charlie and Faye Friedman.
Born on the northwest side of Chicago in 1944, Trudy endured a difficult childhood that forged the strength and fighting spirit she carried throughout her life. She married Marvin at 19 and became a mother at 20, beginning the family that would remain at the center of her world.
Trudy loved playing mahjong, canasta, going shopping, and, above all, spending time with her grandchildren. Enjoying life was always her North Star. She lived fully, boldly, and on her own terms.
She battled cancer for eight years—and in every way that mattered, she won. She refused to allow her illness to define her or diminish her joy, living life to its fullest until the very end.
Trudy was strong, spirited, loving, and truly one of a kind. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
