Gilbert was the beloved husband of Sandi; father of Marla (Gregory) Aull and Steven (Brooke) Libert; grandfather of Joseph, Emily, David, Haley and Sam; step-dad to Rochelle (Douglas) Sowa and the late Scott Beyda; "Papa" to Olivia and Ethan Sowa; brother of Rochelle (late Hartley) Begoun, the late Morton (late Lois) Libert, the late Marvin (Loretta) Libert, and the late Gertrude (late Robert) Bennett; and loving uncle to many.
A committal service will be held Thursday, September 24, 12:00 PM at Memorial Park Cemetery, 9900 Gross Point Rd, Skokie, IL 60076.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Plant A Tree-Jewish National Fund USA or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or National MS Society.
