Gilda Kolkey

Gilda Kolkey, artist, devoted wife, and selfless and loving mother, left her earthly bonds on June 17, 2012 at the age of 85. Born in Chicago and a member of the Chicago Society of Artists, the senior artists network and the Arts Club. Gilda was preceded in her passage by her husband of 25 years, Eugene Kolkey, creator of Tony the Tiger. She is survived by her three loving sons, Daniel, Sandor and Eric, three devoted daughters-in-law, Donna, Lisa and Michelle, her six grandchildren, Eugene, Samantha, William, Christopher, Jonathan and Zakary, and her brother, Larry. Gilda, also a member of the Mid-America Club, received her BA in fine arts from the University of Illinois in 1948 and was a prolific contributor of her uniquely stylized paintings to many shows over the course of six decades.
