Iris was the beloved wife of the late John Beyer; loving mother of Craig Rubin and the late Cathy (Rick) Witt; proud grandmother of Hal Rubin, Marissa (Steve) Rubin Shinall, Logan (Amanda) Witt, and Rachel (Brandon) Witt Bruce; and devoted great-grandmother, fondly known as “Gigi,” to Carter and Asher Bruce. She was the caring sister of Alan (Leslie and the late Wynne) Prince, cherished sister-in-law of Dona Lee Trotter, and a beloved aunt to many nieces, nephews, and friends’ children. Iris shared her children, Craig and Cathy, with her former husband, the late Irwin Rubin.
Iris lived a full 94 years, with the stories, wisdom, and friendships to show for them. She believed a life well lived was one surrounded by family and friends, and she cultivated the kind of enduring relationships that are increasingly rare—built over decades of shared history, laughter, stories, and unwavering companionship.
Her role in her family went far beyond that of mother, grandmother, Auntie, and Gigi. She was a confidant, mentor, and friend, always there when she was needed. Above all, Iris was enormously proud of her family and leaves behind generations shaped by her love, wisdom, strength, and presence. Her passing marks the end of an era for those who loved her.
