Jerry Moose Malitz

Jerry "Moose" Malitz, age 78, Insurance executive since 1957, former President of Midstate Insurance Agency, and Insurance National Services. Auto Insurance. Born and raised in Albany Park in Chicago. Went to Roosevelt High School where he excelled in athletics. He was co-captain of Roosevelt High School 1952 basketball city champions, was first team All City tackle in football. He was inducted into the Chicago Public League Basketball Coach's Hall of Fame in 1998. He went on to Tulsa University where he played football and finished at Northern Illinois University. He was very active in raising money for Roosevelt athletics. He was president of the Cesar Perlman Memorial Foundation, which raised money for various children's charities. He was inducted into the Chicago Jewish Hall of Fame and the Theodre Roosevelt High School Hall of Fame. Beloved husband of Judy Malitz; loving father of Andi (John Jankowski) Malitz, Larry (Jamie) Malitz, Julie (Sheldon) Silverman, Richard (Sunshine Voelker) Malitz, Marc (Kelly) Malitz; Adoring papa of Jake and Arielle Silverman, Dani and David Malitz; Dear Brother of Dr. Irwin "Woody" (Mickey) Malitz, Frank (Joyce) Malitz, and the late Lorriane Malitz. Funeral Service Friday, 12:30pm at Weinstein Funeral Home, 111 Skokie Blvd, Wilmette, IL 60091. Interment at Memorial Park Cemetery, Skokie, IL.
