I had the pleasure of working with John in his role as CEO of Bodine Electric Company. My key memory is his persistence in pursuing an idea once he had it in his head. His BMO team enjoyed working with him over many years. He and his spirit will be missed on this earth. I offer my and our condolences to Sherrill and his entire family. Carl Skoog, BMO Harris Bank

Dear Sherrill,
Ralph and I are so incredibly sad to learn of John’s death. He was such a kind and gentle man who absolutely adored you. How blessed you are to have shared so many fun times over the years. Your book of memories must be full with all the great times you two experienced. We remember with great fondness spending time with you at Mardi Gras! John’s legacy is your children and grandchildren and his devotion to all of you. Try to think of him as the brightest star in the sky and each time you gaze upon it—————extra twinkles will come your way.
Much love,
Helen & Ralph Applegate

My memories of John go back many years to the early 60’s.They are pleasantly filled with the naïveté of youth: settling into our freshman year at Purdue; living in H1; pledging at 359 Vine; double dating with John and Sherrill; rowing crew on the Wabash; spending a short
holiday break with John and family at their River Forest home; and much more.

I remember John, even in those early days, as one who was stubbornly loyal to his friends and his beliefs.
Rest in Peace ,John.

With Fond Memories,
Lanny Raimondo

To the Bodine family,
John was a friend and a Theta Chi fraternity brother. My wife, Linda and I were sorry to hear about his passing. He will be missed for his quick wit and his friendly smile. Because of John and Sherrill introducing us, Linda and I have been happily married for 52 years. Our deepest condolences to Sherrill and family.
God Bless,

My most sincere condolences to the Bodine family. I had the honor of working at Bodine Electric Company from 1993 to 1998. In that period I was welcomed into the BECO family, the most wonderful people under the leadership of John Bodine. Warmth and compassion are only two words of many that describe this man. Peace.

I remember one time when John was walking through the Peosta plant. My beard was getting longer and he was always one for cracking jokes. He looked at me and said"Mike are you trying to become one of the duck guys?" From the show Duck Dynasty. I will always remember his since of humor and I will always keep his memory close. God Speed John R Bodine.
