John D. Kenner (Jack) passed peacefully on October 22, 2022. Son of the late Dr. William H. Kenner and Eleanor McDonald Kennerof Chicago, IL. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Helen (Harrison) Kenner and brother William H. Kenner III. He is survived by his partner, Linda C. Allen (Lindy). Loving father of Keith (Marcia) of Glenview, IL, Jacqueline (Arthur) Carmody III of Shreveport, LA. Proud grandfather of Arthur Carmody IV, Harrison Carmody, Kenner Carmody, Aubry Carmody, Drake Carmody, Helen Elizabeth Carmody, Harrison Kenner and Katie Kenner. Jack was born and raised on the near north side of Chicago, IL and graduated from The Latin School and Northwestern University. Upon graduation he was commissioned as a Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps and was stationed in Camp Pendleton. He served proudly in the Korean War and was promoted to Captain. After leaving the Marine Corps Jack began his advertising career with Clinton E. Frank Advertising Agency in Chicago as an Account Director, and continued working in the advertising business during the 60's and 70's. He retired in the 1980's and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and will be remembered for his love for his family (especially his grandchildren) and his interest in the arts, history and politics. Friends and family will gather Friday, October 28, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. until time of the funeral service, 11:00 a.m., at Wm. H. Scott Funeral Home, 1100 Greenleaf Ave., Wilmette, IL.
