It has been some time, but I am just now learning of Kyle's passing. He and I were very close for two years at the University of Illinois, as roommates and as co-workers. I had not spoken with him for some time and in fact learned of his passing while trying to find his contact information to reconnect with him. I hope that he is at peace and that his family is coming to terms with his loss as best as is possible, though I realize that it will never been possible to replace him. He was truly one of a kind.

It was just today that I found out that Kyle had passed. We worked together at Sbux. He was such a great guy to be around. We would giggle and laugh and sing and dance. I'm so sorry for the loss of such a wonderful person.   He was my "Hurricane Kyle".  He always brightened my day and my heart.  My deepest sympathies to his family.

I was so sorry to hear about Kyle Whitley. I Have two children who were taught by him , he was a wonderful teacher, I had the pleasure of helping in  his classroom at Fulton and always enjoyed his company.......

We were truly saddened to hear of the passing of Mr. Whitely, he was an amazing teacher to our daughter, and he will be missed. Our hearts go out to his family.

I am so sad to hear about Kyle.....he is forever in my thoughts as the "boy teacher." We had a LOT of laughs while working at Fulton and even after he moved on to a new school, his random messages would instantly put a smile on my face. Kyle rest easy and I hope you realized how many lives you had touched.

Even though I did not meet Kyle in person, I have heard wonderful   things about him from the Fulton School staff.  As a Fulton teacher,  please accept my deepest condolences to family and friends.  May Kyle rest in peace.  He will be missed and he touched many lives as a teacher.

I was so saddened to hear of Kyle's passing.  I had the pleasure of working in his classroom several years ago and he was always willing to try new ideas for our students success. Kyle was always fun to be with in junior high and high school band - never one to let a joke pass, but always with a smile in his eyes and kindness in his heart. Kyle (aka 'Bean'), I will miss you so much. Working with you at Starbucks and visiting you at the hotel in Wilmette was so much fun. I can still hear your laugh. You always put a huge smile on my face as you did with everybody else who knew you. I love and miss you so much, Bean.

I worked with Kyle at Union Ridge School a couple of years ago. He was a genuinely nice person and an excellent educator who worked to make learning fun for his students. I know he will be missed by colleagues and students alike. Rest in peace.

Kyle was loved and respected by all who knew him at 1500 Sheridan Road.  Both at his pool duties and at the front door, Kyle did his job as a professional with great care, great skill and most of all, a great, unforgettable smile.
