Lawrence Grygienc

Lawrence S. Grygienc, 86, of Evanston; cherished father of Laura (Kent) Born; loving grandfather of Elise, Jason and Kyle Born; caring brother of the late Richard (late Christine) Grygienc and the late Diane (Charles) Sanders; proud uncle of Adam (Gina) Sanders and Dr. Wendy Sanders. Lawrence will fondly be remembered and missed by his daughter Laura, grandchildren, niece and nephew, great nieces, nephews and many cousins. Mr. Grygienc was the first in his generation to earn a college degree and was smart, curious, giving and kind to family. He was a Godfather to many, and he loved the arts, music, photography, cooking and traveling the world. His daughter, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and dogs brought great joy to his life. He was a successful engineer and a proud father who will be missed by his daughter, Laura. A visitation will be held Thursday, September 21, 2023 from 5:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Wm. H. Scott Funeral Home, 1100 Greenleaf Avenue, Wilmette, IL 60091. A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 22, 2023 at Kenilworth Union Church, 211 Kenilworth Avenue, Kenilworth, IL 60043 with a luncheon to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association (www.alz.org).
