Dr. Leslie J. Sandlow, 87. Beloved husband for 64 years of Joanne, née Fleischer; devoted father of Jay (Bridget) Sandlow, Bruce (Deborah) Sandlow, and Lisa (Douglas) Imber; proud grandfather of Samantha (Sean) Mackman, Jacquelyn, Rachel, Sarah, Natalie, and Haley Sandlow, Arielle and Jacob Imber; dear brother of the late Richard (Betty) Sandlow; loving uncle of Marjorie Sandlow (Barry Rosen) and Tom Sandlow; caring great-uncle of four. Dr. Sandlow was an essential part of Michael Reese Hospital for over 35 years, where he trained, stayed on faculty, and was ultimately in charge of Graduate Medical Education. He moved to the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Medicine where he served as Senior Associate Dean for Academic & Educational Affairs, as well as Head of the Department of Medical Education. After "retiring" in 2010, he continued working as a consultant to medical schools across the nation and was still actively teaching until his death. He was an avid photographer, world traveler, and role model for all. He will be deeply missed. Funeral service Thurs, July 29, 12 PM at Weinstein & Piser Funeral Home, 111 Skokie Blvd, Wilmette. Interment Westlawn Cemetery.
