Thank you to all who have shared messages of compassion on Lois' passing.  It was a shock to all of us.  As we spent the week in Chicago  for the memorial service and vacating her apartment, we met so many wonderful friends of Lois'  and shared some great memories.  We especially want to thank the director from Loyola University who shared with us on the teaching Lois was doing with her students and how beneficial the hands on training was concerning lymphodema.  Lois truly was a caring person especially concerning areas of great concern to her.  She will be missed by all but her suffering is over and we have to be happy and grateful for that.   Peace and happiness to you forever, Lois.

I was so shocked and saddened to hear of Lois's passing. She was a long time member of our Board of Directors at the Lymphedema Advocacy Group. She contributed in many ways over the years, but none were more important than the relationship she had with her Congresswoman, Jan Schakowsky, who is House sponsor of the Lymphedema Treatment Act. She recently sent a letter to the Congresswoman that I will share below. I’m so glad she got to see the bill pass the House and that she left this world filled with hope that we would see it passed into law. She will be missed by many and I'm grateful that our advocacy brought us together.

Congresswoman Schakowsky, meeting with and learning not only of your compassion for those afflicted with Lymphedema, but having a personal connection to this awful and debilitating disease and seeing your passion about getting the LTA passed so that Lymphedema patients can be assured of getting the necessary care that they need confirmed for me that we had the right person to help us take the bill to the finish line.  Being a Lymphedema patient, this means the world to me and I am so honored to be working with you. I know that passing the bill in the House is just the beginning and now must make sure that it gets passed in the Senate and educate the medical community and the public on what Lymphedema is and the dangers and costs of Lymphedema patients going not only undiagnosed, but untreated.  I look forward to working with you and the team to make all of this a reality so that no Lymphedema patient ever has to worry about ever being able to afford care for Lymphedema again. I had the great privilege of working with Lois on the Lymphedema Advocacy Group board.  She was a tireless advocate who always stepped up to do any task.  She will be greatly missed!  She has forever left her mark.  Thoughts and prayers with her family and close friends.  

 Lois was a  passionate advocate in the Lymphedema Community. I had the privilege of working with Lois as a member of the Lyphedema Advocacy Group. Her work will be remembered and her presence will truly be missed.

Lois was such a dear soul who worked so hard to help others with Lymphedema.  I have many fond memories of her as we worked together to pass the Lymphedema Treatment Act.  She will be very missed.

I was on the Lymphedema Advocacy Group Board with Lois.  Despite ill health she worked so hard with us to get The Lymphedema Treatment Act passed.  We will miss her. 

I am sorry I cannot be with you, but you are in my prayers, I remember my first sleepover was with Lois is grade school at your home, don't think I was ready for it, I wanted to sleep and everyone else wanted to stay up and talk and giggle and have fun.
