Marianne was born February 15, 1930, in Chicago, the daughter of Bertha Rabinowitz and David Gross.
She graduated from Sullivan High School in Rogers Park in 1948, then to the University of Illinois, earning a Liberal Arts degree.
Marianne went on to marry her high school sweetheart, Richard Reinisch. They remained married "best friends" for 52 years until Richard's passing on December 24, 2002.
School teacher, mother, wife, community volunteer for a multitude of organizations from Meals on Wheels to the Lincoln Park Zoo, she will be remembered for her unbridled energy and generosity to all. Her philanthropy was nothing short of awesome, her loyalty to the Cubs and Bears, legendary, and her tennis game played with great joy well into her 80's.
Remaining to cherish Marianne's memory are children Steve (Shellee Reinisch), David (Julie Kiefer), Katie Reinisch; son-in-law Paul Salmen, husband of pre-deceased daughter Nancy Reinisch; grandchildren Chas & Marco, Jonathon & Aaron, Noah & Ava and Joie & Marlee; and 8 pretty great great-grandchildren. Preceding Marianne in death are spouse Richard; parents Bertha Rabinowitz & David Gross; brothers Armand and Stanley; sisters Mildred, Ethel, Pearl, Lillian, and Jeanne.
Private services for immediate family members only were held at Memorial Park Cemetery in Skokie. For info: 847-256-5700
