My first memory (when I was about 3 years old) was waking up in a strange place happy and excited knowing that I was going to do something fun with my dad. The place ended up being Wisconsin, and my dad and I had a great time playing miniature golf. Early in grade school my father was working as an attorney and would not get home from work until about 8:30. I remember always pestering my mom about when he was going to come home because I always wanted to see him. He changed careers when I was in 3rd grade and starting trading options at the Mercantile Exchange. He would get home from work just after I got home from grade school. We spent a ton of time together. We would play catch in the backyard and he would help me with my pitching and throw ground balls for me. We shot baskets in the driveway. We threw the football in the street. We had fun roughhousing and playing video games together too. We had a fierce rivalry in the video game NHLPA hockey. He enjoyed coaching and watching my youth sports teams. My dad helped me gain badges with Cub Scouts, and we worked together on my Pinewood Derby cars. Through his planning we took some great vacations including climbing Mayan ruins and snorkeling in Cancun, and a trip to California where we rented a car and drove all the way up the coast stopping at several cities along the way. When I was an athlete in high school he attended almost all my hockey and basketball games. He was my biggest fan! He was very involved with my search for colleges, and together with my mom we went on a road trip to look at several universities. When I was a young adult  I developed a chronic illness that many people do not understand. Dad was always compassionate, and did did every thing he could to help me treat the condition.  He emphasized getting a good education, but wanted me to pursue activities and a career that I was passionate about. In conclusion,  my dad loved his family very much. I was lucky to have him as a father.

Upon hearing of Mark's passing,  we  were greatly saddened. 

A true friend to all who knew him,  his advice and counsel was 

always available when  needed.  We cherish his memory.
