Marlene Joy Levitt, 84. Beloved daughter of the late Emanuel and Sally Margolis; devoted mother of Mark (Kim) Levitt and Mitchell Levitt; treasure sister of Gail (Gary) Rudd; loving aunt of Jeff (Christie) Rudd; caring great-aunt of many. Joy was very beautiful, always hair, makeup, and outfit pristine. She worked in the Prudential Building in television advertising for many years, becoming a stay at home mom when her children were born. After her divorce from Hank Levitt, she worked hard to take care of her kids and truly adored both of her sons. Joy took care of her sister Gail when their father died at 40 years old and their mother had to work. Joy and Gail were very close, sharing a lifelong bond. She was an excellent friend, keeping in touch with many going as far back as high school. She will be deeply missed. A graveside service will be held Friday, July 15, 11:30 AM, at Shalom Memorial Park, 1700 W. Rand Rd. (enter off of Wilke), Arlington Heights. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Paralyzed Veterans of America, www.pva.org.
