To the Family members of Ms. Marna Shapiro; my condolences.

I was a student at Waller High School from 1965 - 1969.

Miss Shapiro was our English teacher, but what I remember

most was the enthusiastic and fun loving way she would

plan the Senior Prom each year.  It had to be at a classy hotel

and when Miss Shapiro walked in; she looked stunning.

She put her heart and soul in making sure we all had a memorable

time.  Thanks, Miss Shapiro and may you rest in peace.

Dear Loren,
I am so sorry to hear of Marna's passing. Such a bright, wise, lovely friend and colleague. She was much admired professionally at Waller High School (currently LPHS) by her colleagues, staff
and the students she taught and counseled. And by Charles, as well, for her superb interaction with her counselees.
It is so very difficult to lose a spouse we have loved. A part of ourselves goes with them. I know happy memories will eventually ease the pain.
I tried to reach Marna over the past year, but
my notes were returned. I wish I had the chance
to say "good-bye".
My sincere condolences to you in this time of sorrow.

I knew Marna as a new teacher at Lincoln Park High School in Chicago. She helped me navigate those crazy waters in the CPS system with her wisdom, hard work and incisive humor. She was someone I trusted, learned from and had great respect for. My love goes out to her family and friends.

Loren, My deepest condolences on Marna's passing. While it has been many years since we last saw each other, the family relationship has never been out of mind. It's been ten years since my wife passed away and I have fond memories of her as you will cherish over time about Marna.

Dear Loren... I just read the sad news about Marna... so many weeks I have wrtten to you and no reply so I now know why.... My hearfelt condolences to you Loren... I recall how many fun times Mort and I had with Marna and you... we share good memories... thinking of you  . it is so sad to lose one you love..
