Mary Oppemheim, 100, a pioneer practicing attorney for more than 75 years, died suddenly after a short illness. She was the loving wife of the late Army Col. Norman Oppenheim; beloved sister of Dr. Samuel T. Gerber (Rose); Esther Wortell (Marvin); Ann Gerber (Bernard Kaplan). Her more than a dozen nieces and nephews adored this guiding, charming matriarch of her extended family. Active civic and cultural leader, Mary was honored by the Weizmann Institute, Friends of the Hebrew University, JUF and other organizations that she supported. For more than 40 years she was the law partner of the late brothers Marshall and Sydney Korshak. For a woman who lived and loved through a century, Mary was an amazingly attractive, petite woman who looked like a vivacious fashionista of far fewer years. Mary became a lawyer when females were rare in the profession and her legacy indicates an impressive record of respect and achievement. There will never be another dynamic, caring, earth mother woman like our Mary. Service
