Meredyth Jaye Ohringer, 30, passed away on November 17, 2025. Growing up, Meredyth loved singing, theatre, playing tennis, and most of all time with her family. She attended Francis W. Parker School in Chicago, IL. At Hamilton College she was a leader of the Tumbling After a capella group and a sociology major + education minor. That is where she also met her husband Eli Lichtman (‘18).
Post-Grad, she received her Master’s Degree in Special and General Education with an ESL Endorsement from the Erikson Institute in Chicago. She later became a Learning Behavior Specialist and Wilson Dyslexia Practitioner. She taught at Redwood Literacy for 3 years, guiding students with dyslexia and other learning challenges. Afterwards, she worked as a psychometrist at the Center for Comprehensive Neurobehavioral Care for 2 years, testing children and adults to aid in diagnoses and treatment plans. She cared deeply about the next generation of learners, especially for underrepresented populations. Outside of education, she supported many causes such as the ACLU and Planned Parenthood.
Her curiosity about people and life, infectious smile, compassion, joy, and great sense of humor made her a shining light for all those who were lucky enough to know her. She filled the world with hope, bringing a rare combination of kindness and conviction in her ideas. Meredyth lived intentionally, connecting on a special level with her close friends and family. She inspired you to be a better human being.
In addition to her husband Eli, she is survived by her brother Jeremy Ohringer and her parents Amy Kleinman and Mark Ohringer.
