Merle and I met recently in a new MahJongg group. I would like to extend my condolences to Bernie and all her family. She was very private and gave no indication that she was ill. We will miss her.

Our condolences to Merle's family on the loss of one very special woman whom I knew through my sister, Ann Weisman. I know Merle meant a great deal to Ann who never missed a day speaking to Merle on the phone. Merle had a welcoming way about her. She will be missed by us all.

My friend of 40 years and co-worker at Von Humboldt Elementary School. Although I am a Christian, I went to Temple with Merle when she asked me. We held prayers privately every morning at 7:00am.
I will miss my dear friend a lot and forever.

We were sorry to read of Merle's death in today's paper. She was a lovely lady who was interested in all that was going on in the world. We were fortunate to meet Bernie and Merle in Phoenix at an Elderhostel program on Frank Lloyd Wright and we instantly became friends. Since then they have visited us in St. Charles and we have met for lunch in Chicago. We also kept in touch with cards and the internet. We will miss her and send our love to Bernie and all of her family. Peace and Love, Mike and Nancy Hill
