Michael (Mike) Lee Weinstein was taken from us far too soon. He was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to his late parents, Edward and Rose. Mike attended the University of Wisconsin, where he met the love of his life, Linda Harman. Together they built a home in Evanston, Illinois, where they raised their two beloved daughters, Melissa (Jonathan) and Megan (Todd).
Mike treasured family, friendship, Chicago sports, and humor. He took immense pride in his five grandchildren, Alistair, Billy, Leon, Patrick, and Maeve, and counted the Cubs’ World Series win among his happiest moments; a victory he considered well worth the wait.
He was deeply loved by a loyal and far-reaching circle of friends, from his days in Wisconsin and his extended family, including his cousin, in-laws, nieces and nephews, his fantasy football league, colleagues from a successful career in sales, the friends he made in Evanston, and the many he cherished from his time at the gym.
Mike lived with unwavering drive and tenacity, completing marathons and triathlons, running in snowstorms, and swimming in Lake Michigan year-round. He was a true mensch with a great sense of humor and he will be deeply missed. In his honor, keep moving forward, even in the cold, and find something to laugh about along the way.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, May 13, 2026 at 12:00pm, at Weinstein & Piser Funeral Home, 111 Skokie Blvd, Wilmette, IL 60091. A luncheon will follow from 1pm - 3:30pm at Maggiano's Old Orchard.
