Myrna L. Cohn

August 22, 1938 – June 8, 2023
Obituary of Myrna L. Cohn
IN THE CARE OF

Weinstein & Piser Funeral Home

Myrna Lee Cohn, nee Marks, age 84, beloved wife and best friend of Garrett Unger Cohn for 54 years, passed away on June 8, 2023. Adored mother of Michelle (Steven) Fishman, Adam (Jill Woehrmann) Cohn, Sharon (the late Stuart Johnson) Cohn and Laura (Bill Dingfelder) Cohn; loving grandma of Jordyn (Steven) Kerstein, Alexa Fishman, Daniel Cohn, Levon Cohn and Josie Cohn; dear sister of Susan (the late Artie) Arkin and Carol (Lowell) Kousins. Special “Auntie Myrna” to many nieces and nephews.

We remember Myrna as a shining star! A vibrant, intelligent, beautiful woman who created a unique legacy that spanned across her family, the business community, the arts, and Judaism.

Myrna was a thought-leader ahead of her time, having achieved a higher education of advanced degrees focused on Organizational Behavior in the late 1970’s, an education that propelled her into the business world as a leader in organizational consulting in the corporate setting and as a business owner for small to mid-size companies. She founded Achievement Management Company and Creative Consulting Concepts where she served Chicagoland entrepreneurs throughout their critical growth stages.

Myrna and Garrett were founding members of the Society of Humanistic Judaism where they raised their four children as independent, original thinkers all of whom carry her passion for connecting with others, learning, and engaging in the world around them.

Upon retirement Myrna focused her creative energy into art where she became an accomplished juried artist focused on contemporary fine art.

Myrna graduated from Senn High School in Chicago in 1956.

While Myrna always considered Chicago and the North Shore her home, she also resided in Bucks County, PA and Door County, WI. where she was an active member in the Unitarian Church.

A private family service has already taken place. Condolences may be sent to The Cohn Family – c/o Fishman, 1747 Mission Hills Rd, Northbrook, IL 60062.
