Myron J Resnick

Mickey graduated from Louisville Male High School, and from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania (Class of 1953). He was a member of Phi Epsilon Pi fraternity. He received his JD from The University of Michigan School of Law (Class of 1956), followed by service as an intelligence analyst in The United States Army Counterintelligence Corps in Stuttgart, Germany.

When Mickey returned home, he joined the Financial Law Department of Allstate Insurance Company in Northbrook, Illinois, was ultimately elected to the Board of Directors and rose to the rank of Senior Vice President, Treasurer and Chief Investment Officer, leading the initial public offering of Allstate in 1993.

He served the Anti-Defamation League in a variety of positions: Board Chairman of the Upper Midwest Region; National Commissioner; and Member of the National Global Advisory Council. He also served on the Board of Advisors of the Institute of Law and Economics at the University of Pennsylvania; and was the last Chairman of the Board of George Williams College prior to its merger with Aurora University, of which he was a long-time Trustee and Member of the Board. He was the Chairman of the Family Service Center of Wilmette, Kenilworth, Glencoe and Northbrook, and was the recipient of the Spirit of St. Benedict award from the Benedictine Sisters of Chicago. He served on the Board of Directors of The Chicago Urban League, the Metropolitan Housing Development Corporation, and West Side Affordable Housing (Homan Square). He served as adjunct faculty at John Marshall Law School and was a long-time member of Beth Emet Synagogue in Evanston, Illinois. A son of Kentucky, Mickey, along with his dear friend Bill Walsh, was a thoroughbred horse owner for many years, and a lifetime lover of racing.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two sisters: Suzanne Golden of Rock Island, Illinois and Jane Weinstein of Davenport, Iowa as well as his nephew, Gary Weinstein, his niece Helane Golden, and his daughter-in-law, Victoria Resnick.

Surviving are his loving wife, Alicia (Ward) Resnick and his three sons: Hugh, of Greenwood, Indiana, Clay (Jennifer) of Bristol, Rhode Island, and David (Shannon) of Chicago. He is also survived by five enchanting grandchildren, Hannah, Abigail, Cole, Paige and Max Resnick, and his faithful nieces and nephews, the Goldens: Linda (Mark Pearlstrom), Libby (Charlie Hopkins) and Howard (Ellen); and the Weinsteins: Rick (Karen), Janelle, and Laura (Tim Sage). He was also beloved by all of the Ward Family.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, July 17 at 10 a.m. at Beth Emet Synagogue, 1224 Dempster Street, Evanston, Illinois. Interment will follow immediately at Memorial Park Cemetery, 9900 Gross Point Road, Skokie, Illinois.
