

Nancy Clark Mills, beloved wife of Fred L. Mills, Jr., and devoted mother to her three children, was a patron of the symphony, opera, and the arts who, with her husband, frequently attended the Art Institute of Chicago, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and the Lyric Opera. She was a committed volunteer throughout her life with early service during World War II in the US Army motor pool in Kansas City, Missouri. She went on to become a member of the Junior Leagues of Kansas City and of Chicago. She applied her training to countless volunteer efforts throughout her life including service on the boards of the Junior League of Chicago, Lighthouse for the Blind, Planned Parenthood, and the Christ Church Rummage Sale in Winnetka. As a long term member of the community of Christ Church she was a fixture on its Alter Guild for most of her adult life. Her educational career included Bradford Junior College and Kansas University where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma. She is survived by her beloved husband Fred L. Mills, Jr., her children, Frederick L. Mills III, Melissa Josephine Mills, Christopher Clark Mills, her grandchildren, Kate McKayla Mills and Hannah Matsue Mills Hironaka, and her sisters, Emma Josephine Clark Willams and the late Jane Clark Brandon.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, Aug 19 at Christ Church, 784 Sheridan Rd. Winnetka.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Christ Church of Winnetka.
