Natalie Sweet passed away peacefully on November 21, 2025. Natalie moved to San Diego to be closer to her daughter and family after living in Decatur until 2021. She was born on June 6, 1934 in Houston, Texas. Her parents gave her the middle name of Dee, which was quite a coincidence because D-Day was exactly 10 years after her birthdate. Natalie called herself a professional volunteer co-chairing the Fun Fair, acting as President of the Macon County Medical Society Auxiliary, assisting with the Decatur Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, driving Meals on Wheels, serving as PTA President at MacArthur High School, and supporting the community through her generosity. Natalie attended the University of Miami (FL), and graduated from Millikin University in 1978.
Surviving Natalie is her daughter, Margaret (Gary), and granddaughters Lindsey and Lily Bellowe. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur, and son, Chuck. Thank you to the wonderful staff and care given at Seacrest and West Coast Hospice.
Graveside service will be held Friday, November 28, 11AM at Memorial Park Cemetery, 9900 Gross Point Rd, Skokie, IL 60076. In lieu of flowers, donations in honor of Natalie's memory may be sent to Crohn's and Colitis Foundation at https://p2p.onecause.com/nationaldiy/gary-bellowe-2 or a charity of your choice.
