Phyllis T. Edelstein, age 78, died peacefully at home on July 29, exactly six months after the passing of her beloved spouse, Art Edelstein, her husband of nearly fifty years. She fought a long, losing battle against ALS, and finally found peace.
Phyllis is survived by her two sons, Eric and Steve, and their wives, Kortney and Julie; her grandchildren, Addison and Connor; and her sister Ami and brother David. We are grateful to the family, friends, and healthcare workers who came to visit her in her final months to help raise her spirits, and know that she was loved.
A graveside service for friends and family will take place on Friday, August 7, 9:00 AM at Memorial Park Cemetery, 9900 Gross Point Rd, Skokie, IL 60076. A small reception will follow at Hackney’s on Lake, 1514 East Lake Ave, Glenview, IL 60025 after the ceremony.
