Richard "Rick" Alan Mitchell, 75, of Glenview, IL. Beloved husband of Lori Mitchell; cherished father of Victoria Mitchell; loving brother of Wendy (Tom Buckner) Mitchell and the late Sue Mitchell; caring stepbrother of Paula Siegel, Sandy (Terry Bussoletti) Siegel, and Bob Siegel; proud uncle of Mackenzie.
Rick worked as a teacher and administrator in both math and special education from the early 1970s until his retirement in the early 2010s. But one career wasn’t enough for him. In the early 1980s, he took over The Blind Ambition, providing window blinds and treatments to Chicagoland and beyond.
Rick was a lifelong multi-sport athlete (basketball, golf, tennis) and an avid Chicago sports fan.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, November 13, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Weinstein & Piser Funeral Home, 111 Skokie Blvd., Wilmette, IL 60091.
