Rosa Karpati

Rosa Karpati, 89, of Skokie. Beloved sister of Julia (Barry) Pitzele; loving aunt of Henry (Monika) Pitzele; proud great aunt of Daniel and Adrian Pitzele; caring sister-in-law of Robert Pitzele. Rosa is also survived by Monika's mother Barbara Jakacka. Rosa, a child survivor of the Holocaust, was born in 1932 in Budapest, Hungary. At the age of 16 she lost her mother who died in childbirth. She became a sister and a mother all at once. In 1968 Rosa emigrated to the US with her sister. She completed a long career in the pharmaceutical industry at GD Searle. Her passion for her family was fulfilled with Juli, Barry, Henry, Monika, Daniel, Adrian, Barbara, and Robert. The void she left behind in her ever-helping integral role in the family will be missed forever. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Sunday, November 21, 2021 at Weinstein & Piser Funeral Home 111 Skokie Blvd., Wilmette, IL 60091. Interment Waldheim Cemetery, Gate 43.
