Born in San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico, to Fidel Vazquez and Mariana Crespo, Rosita came to the United States determined to build a better life. Through hard work, resilience, and faith, she established her own beauty salon — a true reflection of her self-starter spirit and love for people. She cared deeply for her family and community, always giving more than she had. One of her greatest joys was cooking and feeding those she loved, believing that a good meal could fill not only the body but the soul.
Rosita was the beloved wife of the late Jerome Sloan and was also preceded in death by seven of her siblings.
She is survived by her two daughters, Andrea (Rob) Groleau and Lisa. She was a cherished grandmother to thirteen grandchildren, including Jesse (Maria), Shaylee (Xadrian), Jordan, Roderick, Patrick (Heaven), Zachary, and Brandon Groleau. She also leaves behind eighteen great-grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews.
Rosita is also survived by her sister, Maria Aida. She is further survived by Jerome’s children and grandchildren— Marty (Rosemary), Daniel, and Debra— and by his granddaughter, Jennifer, daughter of his late son, Allan.
Rosita’s life was a testament to perseverance, love, and the power of family — a legacy that will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
