Seymour was born January 2, 1946 in Chicago to Rochelle ‘Rae’ DeKoven and Philip Schwartz. He was preceded in death by his brother, Harvey (late Barbara) Schwartz. Seymour was the husband to Leslie (Ingham) Schwartz for 54 years; father to Esther (Benjamin) Goldman and Philip (Candace Caron) Schwartz; and loving Zaydie Seymour to Levi (Reana) Goldman, Naomi Goldman and Dax Schwartz.
Seymour was a quick witted pun master with a joke or story up his sleeve for anyone willing to listen. As a young man, he taught overseas with the Armed Forces as the equivalent rank of Lt Colonel. (If you are reading this, Seymour made sure that you already knew this!) Seymour was then a professor of Political and Social Science within The Chicago Community College system for many years and chairman of his department. He was a staunch political activist, and a longtime member at Beth Emet The Free Synagogue. A White Sox and Chicago Bears fan to the end, he enjoyed time with his grandkids, biking, playing ping pong, making art sculptures and gardening.
Seymour always stepped in to help someone in need. He will be missed but never forgotten.
